Betsy ordered an invasive and unnecessary test on a baby without referencing the past medical records from the previous provider. This test would have been performed under anesthesia, and only done because she did not care enough to read the past medical records of a toddler. The child presented to the office with a new guardian, one who wanted to create her own medical history for the child, which Betsy allowed since she was a family friend. Once I sounded the alarm and she was required to review the records, the test was quickly cancelled. She chose friendship trust over patient safety of a vulnerable child.
