Unbelievably Helpful
My husband and I have been seeing Brad for about 9 months. We have a lot of history and trauma to unpack in order to improve our relationship. Brad has been really helpful in guiding us to where we need to go. He asks insightful questions that make you take a good hard look at yourself. He's blunt and to the point, which we really appreciate. It enables us to cut through to the actual issues. The suggestions and exercises he provides have had a huge impact on us and really moved us forward as a couple. He is exactly what we needed after many sessions with a therapist that wasn't remotely good for us. I cannot recommend him enough if you and your partner are struggling.

The best part of therapy was when it was over. When a client has needs that a non trauma-trained therapist cannot begin to comprehend, handle, or begin to assist……THEN he/she should always be professional and make the PROPER referrals immediately. This did not happen for me and I was paying out of pocket for services that were NOT helpful in the slightest. I went there for help with a HUGE struggling issue with my relationship and I left his office after he decided he would split us up & not talk to us together because why collect ONE co-pay when you can collect TWO!? So, I didn’t need individual therapy with a non-trauma therapist but I paid for >a year of nonsense & received ZERO help. My relationship suffered MORE bc he split us up. In fact, I would say I personally actually suffered more due to this whole negative horrible experience. This was a total time waster to me…??worthless waste of time and ??for >1 year. It is so sad that therapists don’t understand when they are not able to assist trauma survivors. I was ostracized/criticized for “grieving” when clearly this therapist lacks any training or has any background in such issues. He DOES not understand grief, loss, or any other MAJOR life experiences as he has little to no empathy but he will make sure he gets paid with his co-pay each & EVERY session.

Poor therapy followed by threatening emails
We visited Brad for family counseling a few times, while the therapy itself is worth a review - he's not very good at navigating an argument between spouses and wasn't able to relate or understand parenting issues, hence why we opted to see a different therapist. My main issue is that Brad and Silhavy insist on unpaid balances even a year after our last visit, except we paid for our time at the conclusion of each session. Coming back to us, long after we stopped seeing Brad and insisting we owe money and threatening us is crazy to me. Brad Kolano and maybe by extension all of Silhavy comes across as a scam, be warned if this is who you seek therapy from.

Brad is great. He listened and gave different perspectives, new tools and skills for me to cope with my personal issues. He was always respectful and kind. It’s hard to reflect on your own behaviors and to look at the past and face some difficult truths. Forgiveness and letting go of the past is also not easy. But if you work through it, you come to a much happier place. I’ve learned to be present and find my inner peace. Thanks Brad Kolano!!
