Would not answer a specific question.
I was seen by Dr. Rushing for a posterior vitreous detachment. He told me that I needed to come back immediately if I saw more flashes of light and floaters. I went back the next day because I saw flashes of light three times and had more floaters. He checked me again and said he could see why I was seeing the light and the my condition had not gotten worse. He said to come back if I saw anything new. When I asked if seeing the same light was ok and expected, he repeated "if you see something new come back". I asked the same question several times and he answered the same way each time. I left his office confused and not sure what to do if I continued to see the same light. I found out that seeing lights and floaters is to be expected during the healing period after doing my own research. He never explained that to me.

I have an eye condition that can easily lead to a torn cornea, especially if my eyes get dry, which happens often after travel. It happened again in July 2020, while I was on an emergency visit to the Memphis area to assist family. Total Eyecare was able to fit me in first thing Monday morning with Dr Rushing. He was kind, empathetic, and very professional, with good knowledge of my condition, and possible future treatments. He helped treat my injury and get me back to my jobs — both online, and for my mom! — ASAP. Since I am not covered by insurance while traveling, it wasn’t cheap, but he worked with me to keep the costs down. The office is taking appropriate steps to control COVID exposures, including plastic barriers at the front desk, using masks, asking patients to use masks, and sanitizing seats and equipment on a regular basis. I felt reasonably safe in that environment. My one very minor issue is that heavily Christian TV is played in the waiting room. Not to my taste.

On March 5, 2018 I went to this clinic because it was near my house and my right eye was red and puffy. I saw Dr. Brandon Rushing who checked my eyes and my swollen nodes on my right jaw and informed me that I had a viral infection. He prescribed me a generic Amoxicillin called Augmentin which is an antibiotic. I took this 3 thimes a day for one week before learning that Antibiotics are for bacterial infections NOT Viral infections!!!
