Bret Lopez, PA-C

I was scheduled for a total knee replacement on my right knee on 11-7-24. I saw a PA after I injured my knee on 9-20-24 and Dr. Swenson on 10-9-24. During both visits, I was told that surgery would be required. As long as I could get clearance from my pcp and cardiologist, everything would be ok. Today, I saw Bret Lopez for my pre-op appointment. He starts off by saying there were a couple of problems. First, my hemoglobin was too low. Second, my bmi was too high.Because of these two things, my surgery was canceled. He was very rude in his demeanor. When I questioned him about why my bmi was not mentioned until now, he didn't know. He stated twice that it was my hip that needed surgery. My daughter reminded him that it was my right knee. He lectured me on losing weight. He told me that swimming or stationary biking would be good for the knee. However, both the other PA and Dr. Swenson had me on no load bearing or exercise for the knee.

Bret takes the time to make sure that you are satisfied with your treatment and answers your questions. He never makes you feel rushed or that you are wasting his time. I highly recommend this office. Everyone is very pleasant and helpful.
