The P.A., Byron Edwards, "bedside manner" is to immediately inquire with 8 year old girls if they are dating anyone. The first time he asked the question jokingly, I brushed it off, thinking it was not a big deal. This is the 3rd time we've visited this office in 15 months for wart removal and we are never going back. He asked the question in different ways, like, "how would your mom feel if you came home and said you had a boyfriend?" When I tried to steer the conversation away by casually confirming that my daughter will be focusing on school first, and there's time for dating later, he admitted, "Well, I just thought a pretty girl like her would be dating someone." Then asserted that dating young in life is okay because his 5th-grade grand-daughter has a boyfriend. Well, that's great for your grand-daughter but this is a WILDLY inappropriate conversation topic with my 8 year old. Grooming little girls for dating is on this doctor's to-do list.
