Carmen Pemberton, NP

Literally the best experience I’ve ever had with a mental health professional. She is caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I have a difficult time believing anyone who claims she pushed a diagnosis, because she made it very clear to me that the focus should be less on the label and more on my mental well-being. I would definitely recommend her.

I have been seeing her for about 4 years now and I hope I never have to leave her. She is wonderful and she puts me right at ease. She has been a great help to me in working on my medication to get a good balance that works for me. She is also a very good listener and gives great advice. She doesn't have the narcissism that I have found in other Psychiatrists. She doesn't think that she knows you better than you do. She takes the time to get to know you and works with your individual needs. I can't say enough great things about her. She feels more like a friend than a doctor. I won't go anywhere else.

If you want to be diagnosed with bipolar disorder have your parent fill out a checklist and the NP will tell you that you have all the bipolar symptoms without verifying them with you. I thought a manic episode was me wanting to be alone. Shame on her. I found out later i have a medical condition and a learning disorder and i have problems getting along with my mom.

Carmen is amazing. She is calm, caring, and you can tell she genuinely loves her job. She always takes her time with everyone she sees. I have been going to her for years and I am so thankful I found her. Would recommend to anyone.

It takes a while to get the first appointment. Once you are into the system, working with Carmen is a jewel. She takes the time to call her patients back should they be having any problems (barely heard of with most psychiatrists). My daughter had to be hospitalized. Carmen was good to check back with me several times during this period. She keeps us informed about medications and her staff looks after the financial requirements we have to go through.
