Having Carol as a nurse practitioner was an experience that was detrimental to my mental health. The first thing Carol told me was that I probably had a form of bipolar disorder because I had an adverse reaction to Paxil. If she was informed and spoke to the Head of Psychitry and another psychiatrist at Cape Cod Hospital (her boss and my assigned psychiatrist) as I did, she would've known that just because you have hypomanic symptoms from an antidepressant, it doesn't mean you're bipolar. It's tragic because if you rush to judgement over-diagnosis you only make things worse for the patient, which it did for me. But this is just the beginning of the catastrophe that was being a patient of Carol's. Carol told me to cut my medication by about 70 percent within 1-2 months of discharge and never bothered to ask how I was doing. Sadly, I started to get symptoms again and had to up my dose by many folds - all cause I had a nurse practitioner that didn't give me the time of day.
