My bipolar husband, who admitted to have an alcohol problem, left a voicemail cancelling our couples counseling sessions. When he told me that I immediately called Carol and left a voicemail to tell her not to do this, and then I think he may be experiencing a bipolar manic episode. She calls him back right away because he left her number. However, my number was at the office and I forgot to leave it in the voicemail. So then she called back him and canceled our couple early session. Even though the sessions are under my insurance name, she called me back a day later and told me she was cancelling. I told her I was very scared about Jeff and about our relationship and about everything and that I don’t want to cancel our sessions. She told me she already did, cold heartedly alluded to the fact that she will only honor his wishes. As someone with ADHD, she didn’t like that I threw a temper tantrum at our last session and she is using her personal opinion to make professional opinions . There were no threats or danger to anyone, just me raising my voice and crying. We left calmly. Do not trust her, she will try to impose her opinions (like how she told me it’s OK for my husband to check out other women as long as he doesn’t act on it, even though that was a boundary that me and my husband’s at 2 years ago and haven’t had an issue since)
