I am a Laryngectomee and have been working with Dr. Bergin for 3 months. I have found her to be excellent in training me to speak with an electrolarynx. She is a no nonsense perfectionist who has vast experience and is very helpful in aiding patients understand different aspects of speech therapy. She is very pleasant and bends over backward to help her patients. I count finding her as one of my blessings in life.

She aborted the testing because I gagged. She had said she had another way of doing it with a scope which I preferred. When asked why she didn’t use that she said it was dirty and it would take too long to sanitize it and she would be late for her next client. She had no patience was very gruff. When I asked if she could explain what the first part of the test achieved she said no

Every time I have been to see her I have had over an hour wait one time it was 90 minutes. It tells me she is not very organized with her staff and her time. She just seems to ramble on about other issues instead of the one you're there to see her about.
