Cheryl Breault, LPC

I've seen many therapists over the years & had many intakes. My intake w/Cheryl was unfortunately the most awkward/unprofessional intake I’ve ever experienced. Her website says she works with trauma, so I was looking forward to hearing more about how she does that. As it turns out, Cheryl is *not* a fit for people experiencing crisis--she told me she has a waiting list, and so has to make sure the fit is right, so she doesn’t work with people like me. (When is it EVER appropriate to mention your waitlist at a therapy intake?) Then she asked me how *I* felt about the fit, because she needs to make sure she only works with people who are the right fit, given her waitlist. We were maybe 10 minutes into the appointment. I didn't know anything about her to assess the fit, other than she clearly wasn't into working with me. I agree--it's about finding the right fit. But tact/professionalism are much appreciated. If you're experiencing a crisis, there are better therapists for you than Cheryl
