Vybe Urgent Care
Billed $250 for less than 7 minutes. Did not properly diagnose, rushed, dismissive, conflicting response and prescriptions. Was told nothing's wrong with me. I'm still sick.

I received care from him at the Vybe Urgent Care on two separate occasions. My primary care doctor was booked up for weeks and recommended I go to urgent care. The only reason I came here is because it’s close to my home and I did not have the strength to drive very far. He did not listen to any of my symptoms. He kept cutting me off and would not let me speak. He seems incompetent. He kept repeatedly asking me questions that I had already answered. He also did not treat my sinus infection correctly the first time, which is why I had to come back again. He refused to give me antibiotics even though I have a history of allergy and asthma issues and sinus infections. He did not believe that I was truly “sick” because I did not have a high enough fever. I had to argue with him just to get the care that I need. Just terrible. Terrible experience both times.

Shamed me and made me feel like an idiot
I need an emergency prescription renewal that I had tried to contact my PCP about and hadn’t heard back. My pharmacy recommended going to urgent care. As soon as Curt walked into the room I could tell he was about to shame me. He said “explain to me why you ran out of your medication.” It’s true that I had messed up and shouldn’t have experienced a gap in coverage, but it was for an anxiety med and there could have been a base level of compassion for the difficulty of navigating our failed health system. Instead he said “and how is any of that my problem?” Made me feel awful, I already felt foolish and had made several calls trying to take care of this elsewhere. Nowhere else had treated me so poorly. He eventually did fill the prescription but made it clear to me that I should be ashamed for having messed up. It’s sad to me that this is the treatment someone going into an urgent care would receive, especially if they’re seeking help for a psychiatric condition.

Laughed at me and made me feel stupid
I saw this provider via a telehealth visit through Vybe urgent care seeking treatment for allergic asthma. I needed relief and booked a quick virtual visit to seek a medication I had taken in the past before I got in with a specialist. Curt was clearly annoyed and made me feel very stupid for booking a telehealth visit. He repeatedly, loudly laughed at me - for example, when I could not remember what dosage I had taken in 2018, 5 years ago, or when I did not have the inhaler in front of me. He frequently said "do you know that?!" after stating something to me. His sighs were frequent. He reluctantly prescribed the same inhaler, but only asked about symptoms I didn't have, and not what was actually happening with me. I was very flustered, confused, and not in a state of mind to go to bat for myself. I understand now I should have seen someone in person, but I did NOT need to be belittled in order to learn this! I didn't go to medical school, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid.

This man ~tried~ to make me feel stupid
Today, I saw Curt Mullendore. As a medical student, I can tell you I sought care at an appropriate time for my given condition. However, Curt had other thoughts. He proceeded to try to make me feel stupid for not seeking care sooner. Even if he thought this, why not encourage the patient for seeking care when they did instead of trying to make them feel bad?? Additionally, I asked approximately how long it would take to fill my prescription since I am not familiar with pharmacies in this area. He rudely told me that he doesn't work at the pharmacy obviously so it wasn't his problem. I stated that I understood but asked if it would be in the range of hours or days just so I could plan out the rest of my day. He proceeded to repeat himself even more rudely. Eventually as he was leaving the room, he mumbled that it should be a few hours. This man needs to be coached on how to talk to people.

My strep throat recurred after 2 weeks. I thought an antibiotic refill would be called in. I was made to go back in office. This PA said he needed to confirm whether I was non compliant with my meds or it was viral. Had he taken the time to call me back and ask me this I could’ve told him I missed a day of my penicillin. He said he sent over a prescription for amoxicillin after the throat culture came back as strep throat again. I asked if he could confirm the pharmacy as the same one they called the rx into two weeks ago. He said yes. I got to the pharmacy and there was no script for me. I called another pharmacy in case they made a mistake and nothing there either. The woman whose appointment was after mine came into CVS and got her meds filled immediately. This PA has poor judgement and doesn’t respect his patients. Not calling in an rx after discussing it with the patient twice is inexcusable. Of course he hasn’t returned my calls/email because his office closed in an hour.

I was absolutely berated by this man for seeking medical care, and have stopped going to the urgent care that he practices at as a result. Avoid him if you can.
