Dr. Daphne Timmons, PHD

Things started off great! I thought I finally found someone who would be a good fit for me to work with but then she never would give me my next appointment date. I had to wait for her to text me another appointment. I was left wondering when my next appointment was going to be and when I would get to talk with her again. She only communicates through text. She started going two weeks at a time before I would hear from her again. The last straw was when I was totally distraught one day borderline of checking myself in somewhere. She called me back and we talked awhile on the phone. I never heard from her since that call. No explanation! I can’t work with someone who does not schedule next appointments and leaves you wondering when your next session is. And then just disappears after having such a desperate call prior knowing how distraught I was and you just never call back. Very unprofessional!

Daphne is truly one of the best therapists I have ever had (and I have seen a lot). I am very particular about who I share my personal information with but I actually look forward to my appointments with her. I have been seeing her for over 2 years as I visit Charleston regularly. She has such an honest and straight forward approach that has helped improve my self awareness drastically. She is well educated and has been in the field for years. I find that Dr Timmons has some sort of anecdote for every problem to help gain perspective. I truly recommend Dr Timmons if you need an honest and profound approach to your therapy needs. She is empathetic, reliable and works hard to make sure there is time for me and her other patients.

I have been seeing Dr. Timmons for several months to help with different issues. I have found her to be an excellent listener, emphatic, and highly professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Brought my child for therapy related to sexual abuse trauma. Therapist focused on other things. Didn't make any progress. Was abruptly dropped in what sounded like retaliation for cancelling one appointment (with the required amount of notice) and not being able to come for an appointment we were offered at 10am for a 3pm (which I also notified her of). After driving over an hour one way for an appointment that therapist had confirmed via personal text message 5 days previously was told my child wasn't going to comply with therapy goals anyway, the therapist wanted to make room for others on waiting list and that it was basically my own poor judgement for honoring the appointment based on her personal text correspondence confirmation. When we were there she did confront my child about faulty belief system. BUT overall and in reflection, this therapist seems too wrapped up in her own world, schedule, waiting lists, revenue sources, and agenda.
