Surgery after a Five Minute Consult
Seniors beware, if you are the type of patient that does not question doctors, you will be led to surgery after a brief consult that provides no information. I have been called twice by this practice to schedule surgery. After a 5 minute consult. Get a second opinion. Practicioner is not responding to this review.

Dr. Bittings has taken care of my family for many years. His eye exams are thorough and I know I am getting great care for my family. He does a great job of answering questions and discussing treatment options. When I leave I am confident that I have received a comprehensive exam, nothing missed. Unlike the other reviewer, I am glad that the practice has moved passed the outdated puff test...it's unpleasant and the new technology is better. Better results and more comfortable for patients, sounds great to me! The office staff is pleasant and hours convenient.

I have taken my children to Dr. Bittings a couple times and I have always found that he seemed rushed and not interested in what I had to say. He doesn't seem to welcome questions or concerns and his responses are always very snide. I am currently searching for a new optometrist b/c I think it's time for a change.

Definitely not the right new dr. for me. I require my dr. to test my near vision, not just guess at a +2. I require my new eye dr. to ask how I use my eyes - am I a mechanic, birdwatcher, computer analyist, truck driver, etc. If I say I use two different types of contacts, I don't expect the response -- "I don't prescribe those, they are junk." I expect 2 different prescriptions. When I inquire about a possible developing cataract in one eye found by my retired optometrist, I expect a special look and a verbal "I don't see anything here today." I usually get an eye puff test during a routine eye exam. Not here. This eye exam was baffling and disappointing. Maybe my retired guy was just extremely good. I felt Dr. Billings was a smart aleck and rushed. I'll need to try again elsewhere, particularly to get a near vision test, which was reported as the main trouble for the day.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bittings for almost 5 years. It is always easy to schedule an appointment, and he has evening hours so that I can go after work. He also is very responsive to see me when I have had a retina tear and needed an appointment that same day. I was seen a few hours later, and my problem was resolved. Dr. Bittings answers all of my questions, and does not rush through the appointment. Highly recommend!

He is very thorough. I feel like he is easy to talk to and he listens. He is friendly and I never have to wait too long to be seen. The one time I needed to call for an issue it was NYE and he called me back very quickly.
