Yesterday, I took my type 1 diabetic son in for his first appointment. The optometrist was resistant to wear a mask during my son’s exam, even after I informed him that my son was diabetic. The optometrist then tried to assure me that he was “100% immune” and then shared some of his other thoughts on vaccines, covid, and other entities. His opinions and lack of basic covid protection protocols in a medical setting did not make me feel safe proceeding with the exam. We left.

I went looking for spare glasses. When I didn’t find what I was looking for, I whimsically decided to try contact lenses. I got the daily disposables. When I finally got my contact lense exam I was out of lenses. The personnel decided to order another free set, but they would that they would call me. Sounded obvious but I agreed. They finally called me, but only the lense for the left eye came in. The other has been “back ordered” for a long time. Weird!
