Donna Emerson, LPC-S

Donna is kind, compassionate and skilled. She is by far the most intuitive and insightful therapist I’ve ever had. And I have tried many. Donna is exceptionally intelligent. She very adroit at adapting her style of therapy to your needs. She can combine several different types of therapy into a tailored approach that perfectly meets your needs. She listens. She remembers. She understands. The thing that made me really comfortable is the solution orientation. This wasn’t typical “talk therapy “. It was goal driven. Listening to what I said, Donna helped me set goals for my counseling. When I met one goal, we set another. I made so much progress. My depression, anxiety and self sabotage are no longer mysterious. Now I understand and have strategies for managing my behaviors by having learned self compassion, self direction and how to manage my thinking. The bad news is that Donna is planning to retire soon. I hope she will continue her practice with virtual appointments.

I have needed counseling for a long time but was too anxious to go. Donna made me feel so comfortable and not at all judged. She is direct, compassionate and gives a lot of feedback.
