I was a patient of Dr. Fowler‘s for several years about 10 years ago. During an appointment she use the N-word. And I am African-American. I am a lawyer and a highly educated person. I walked out in shock. It has taken me this long to speak my truth. I don’t understand why she would’ve done that and she could give no good explanation. I trusted her with my therapy and I still do not understand what happened

Dr Fowler helped me, guided me, supported me and reassured me through a very trying time in my adult life - multiple traumas (family deaths, relationship, work). She was unfailing and wise, concerned caring and optimistic. She told me I had it in me to get better, healthier and come through these times without too much scar tissue. Together, we did a lot of hard work - probing, talking, inquiring, asking, examining. Was it fun? NO! Was it worthwhile - oh, so YES! It has been over 5 years now and I am in a very good place thanks to Dr. Fowler.
