When looking for a new therapist, I asked for someone who would challenge and outthink me, and Ellen is that person. I'm sure she isn't the right fit as a therapist for everyone, but she is exactly what I need. If you need a therapist to be hard on you and give you the truths you need to move forward in your journey, Ellen is the best I've ever seen.

I had a really good experience with Ellen. She can be a bit blunt at times, but that was definitely something I needed to push me to make changes. She would ask hard questions that in the moment I didn't always appreciate, but by the time our next therapy session would role around, I would always realize she had been right about most things. I would definitely see her again.

I can't say I recommend seeing her. During my brief time trying to work with her it quickly became apparent that she doesn't listen well. She seems to treaty therapy much more like an argument than a chance to heal. Instead of asking me what it was I wanted to do or what might make me feel better she proceeded to give me demands and criticism regardless of my feelings. Therapy isn't helpful when the therapist is unwilling to listen, but apparently Hartnett doesn't grasp this.
