Treated a condition I have that she was unqualified to treat and made things worse.

I saw Emily for a year and a half for abandonment issues. During that time she dissolved professional boundaries and was professionally inappropriate on many levels. She lied about various things: important and unimportant. She abandoned me when other professionals became involved and called out her wrongful involvement with a client. Her abandonment vs handling the situation professionally led to years of depression, anxiety, and ptsd. I lost a job, my retirement, and almost my marriage. She had every opportunity to handle it professionally and compassionately, but chose abandonment instead. Yes, I should have reported her, but at the time I held greater loyalty towards her than my own wellbeing.Choose your therapist wisely. Just because they have a degree does not make them trustworthy.
