Dr. Ericka Kemper, PSY

I had my doubts with going to therapy, but I got to a point in my life where I had a bunch of “knots” that I needed help untangling and working through. Dr. Kemper was upfront of what to expect with her way of therapy. She is blunt, patient, will help you with navigating your problems and finding solutions to them.

Very painful. I recently went through a very deep depression which I believe was stress (work, family, spouse) triggered. I sought out Dr Kemper as for marital counseling. I heard she was very direct & candid which I thought would be the type of person my husband would respect and work with. Which in fact he may have but after each of our 4 sessions I was a complete mental mess, absolutely mentally depleted and experienced a therapy hangover that would take me 24-48 hours to recover from! Every session was completely focused on my thoughts feelings & issues. Which I went through thinking she was just trying to get to know me and my view of our relationship. Which I should have clarified, because maybe it wasn't. I don't know that she ever was intending to understand my husband. It got to a point where my husband even stopped and said 'I think my wife is feeling attacked.' After 4 sessions I could not take anymore!

Downright unkind and harmful. I question her professional training.

Dr Kemper is an excellent therapist. She is direct and some people can not tolerate that and maybe expect therapy to change other people and not themselves. She is compassionate and has expectations that therapy is a lot of self work and focused on what you can control. If you really want to make some changes in your life, she is a great resource.

She is very honest. I was ready to make positive changes in my life, and Dr. Kemper was the perfect person to help me do it. She had great suggestions, and helped me see how I could do things in a more positive manner.

Aggressive and not very helpful in her treatment. Unprofessional and unethical.

She was more harmful than helpful. She did give me some printed off sheets from a book. Those helped. Otherwise, she tended to confuse rudeness with bluntness, overly aggressive, and unprofessional.

She has been very helpful, she listens and helps you set goals. She is very personable and I'm so glad I found her.I now feel so much better,thanks Dr. Kemper
