Here are a few reasons for my 1 star: 1)Evelyn is ungenuine. She has no personality and has inappropriate non verbal facial cues. She does not stay attuned to the therapeutic relationship and will not make a proportional response to what you are saying. 2) Regarding the last statement, she cares more about her "knowledge" than the relationship. She does not know how to relate to her clients. It feels more like a patronizing mom trying to help you out with your problems. 3) She does not respect preferred names as much as I would like. I told her my preferred name and she kept writing down in her notes my legal name even though I explicitly asked her never to use that name in any capacity, to which her response was, "Its for insurance purposes." Please keep in mind she did call me by my preferred name in session, just not anywhere else. I can understand when speaking with insurance but for all other office purposes, you should go by the preferred name.

I saw her once. She behaved unprofessionally. As I answered her questions she grimaced and other negative facial expressions, including rolling her eyes. I was aghast! After seeing that one time, for less than 1 hour she diagnosed me as having a depressive disorder despite despite my confiding in her that I was being stalked. Who wouldnt be depressed? Having an education doesnt not mean one has manners or compassion. Ms. Haughwout is in the wrong field, certainly not with seniors.
