I'm writing this because I'm hoping to help others avoid a bad experience and that this doctor will start treating her patients better. I had requests and preferences in regards to a medication that I had already been on for 1 year. I had worked with a previous practitioner to get my prescription or whatever else I needed with no issue. This is not an addictive or serious medication btw - not even a controlled substance. The doctor flat out said no to my requests on multiple occasions. She did not clearly explain how to proceed and even raised her voice at me. When she did finally tell me what I needed to do (in her opinion) to proceed, she said she had already explained it to me before - when she did not. Honestly, it just felt like she was giving me the run around so that she could be in control - the last thing you want to deal with when you're not feeling well and just need some support. Please do not waste your time with this doctor.

It's been 2 yrs since I've gone to Cornerstone and I still think about my experience and feel the need to share. I've never been more invalidated by a Dr. At my first physical, I mentioned that I thought I may be on the spectrum. Dr. Santiago told me immediately that I could not have autism because of how good I was at conversation and then asked me if I felt like a robot inside?! No resources were shared. I've since been diagnosed with autism by the way. I was also struggling with painful IBS and brought that up during an appt. At this point I was desperate as I was seeing a holistic dietician and was on an extreme elimination diet to figure it out. Her response was to tell me that everyone has IBS and that she has it too if she eats too much dairy or drinks soda. She completely invalidated my pain, offered no resources again and left the room before I felt the conversation was finished. I cried in my car afterward. As a Dominican woman myself, I really hoped for a better experience.
