I saw Ms. White a few years ago. At first, she seemed conscientious and professional. I didn't feel a lot of affinity with her, but I decided to stick around because my insurance didn't offer a ton of options. The first time I broached the topic of my sex life, it was apparent that she would rather change the subject. It became increasingly clear over time that she was not comfortable talking about sexuality. Then, I revealed something about my past relating to sex that was quite traumatic and that I really badly needed to talk about. It disgruntled me to no end that she shut this down and changed the subject every time it came up. She cut off our emotional connection and became judgmental. I began to feel that she just plain didn't like me. The cold-shouldering, stonewalling and microaggressions continued session after session. I finally decided that I could not work with her anymore and left for good.
