It is okay to not be on the same page with the client and move forward civilly. But it is never okay to lash out in a letter- dismissing a patient's needs and criticizing them. You should expect doctors to exhibit a non-judgemental manner, competence, ethics, honesty, and attentiveness. She does not. This doctor lacked professionalism and respect for my case. I clearly stated my expectations prior to our first meeting, but they were not met. Her recommendations were inconsistent and she blamed me. She did not listen to my concerns and meandered into subjects unrelated to my condition. She did not ask open-ended questions, instead asked leading questions, and even worse, made poor assumptions and judgements that weren't reflective of my case. When I asked questions, she told me repeatedly, "Stop overthinking," rather than encouraging questions and listening to my concerns. Look elsewhere.
