My care with him was nightmare . 7 years ago he told me I had autoimmune disease without thorough testing . And guess what I don’t . He scared me to death . I should have reported this . It’s unacceptable way to practice medicine

Similarly to another 1-star review here, I was also struck by the flippancy of his “diagnoses.” I relayed something that another doctor cautiously posited as a possibility, and Gil was very quick to say, “so, you probably have that.” Along with that, he, on more than one occasion, said one thing in one visit, and then the diametrically opposed claim in my next visit. It was shocking, distressing, and disillusioning. The final straw was when, after months of seeing me, asked me in a strange tone, “What exactly are you here for?” ...to get treated, sir. If that question is asked by a doctor that has told you that you “probably have” a remarkable disease and implying that he could alleviate some symptoms of it, he’s either not keeping very good records, or he is wildly ill-equipped to treat what he claims is “probably” present. In this case, it’s probably both. But that won’t stop him from prescribing OTC supplements totaling in excess of $300 a month.

All of our appointments with Dr. Gil have been pleasant, productive, and to the point. I like that he's very caring and patient and he always has a plan in place. Dr. Gil explains the treatment thoroughly and will modify the regimen when needed. Very thankful that Dr. Gil is available by telephone for those who can't travel to his office in Oregon.

Pyroluria and methylation issues are not very well-known to both conventional and holistic doctors. Finding Dr. Gil was the missing piece in our path to optimal vitality and well-being! I'm very grateful (and relieved) to have found him. His blog has very important info about this and other mental health issues...

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Winkelman for a very serious brain health issue for over a year. She has had the most remarkable outcome with his expert medical treatment plan. I am very grateful to have discovered an alternative to damaging pharmaceutical drugs and credit Dr. Winkelman 100% for uncovering the true cause of my child's struggles with psychosis. I most highly reccommend Dr. Winkelman and regard him as an expert in his field of brain health.

He’s a bit of an alarmist. Quick to say you have autoimmune disease without complete examination and testing . Very eccentric .

Overall, I was disappointed with Dr. Winkelman. He did not take the time to hear out my problems. I felt like he jumped to conclusions about my medical issue, and quickly came up with multiple ways for me to pay a lot of money. As someone desperate for answers, I was tempted. His office was not very upfront about how expensive visits can be.
