Hazel May Guenther

I was seeing Hazel for 1+ years and had my partner see her as well individually & for couples sessions 3 months after I started. Towards the end of me seeing her, our sessions were not productive and felt it was just to vent. I felt lost and feeling helpless, she did not challenge me as therapists should. After my partner and I stopped seeing her entirely, the truth of how our sessions were going were revealed. It was heartbreaking finding out from my partner that she was giving him advice on “quiet firing” me in our relationship, further validating his avoidant attachment. There were moments where she validated and made insightful comments/opinions but overall this therapist was not the best fit for us individually and as a couple. After being seen by different providers & had a neuropsych test done, it turned out Hazel badly misdiagnosed me as well. Please keep this review in mind that if in 3 months you don’t click, move onto a different therapist.

There’s good therapists and bad ones like any profession. Unfortunately, in my experience, this is not a good one. Never had a therapist continuously ask what she should do. Lady just comes off as cold and doesn’t seem to actually care.
