The Therapist did not discover the elephant
Went to counseling with my former wife of 45 years. After she met with him alone, I noticed that his behavior towards me soured. And now, after discovering that I was married to a covert Narcissist for 45 years, I realized that she manipulated Jim. It odesn't matter how long you are a therapist, if you don't receive trauma training and narcissism training, you can't really understand this spiritual disease. If Jim was aware, even though narcissists are seldom healed, he could have honored the journey that I was in and help both of us to understand the nature of the toxic relationship we had. It would have save us a lot of time spent on pursuing useless therapy sessions.
