Unfortunately, Dr. Janet Neiderman asked me if my parents were undocumented on three separate occasions, for no apparent reason, without a reason to suspect it, even after I clearly answered. Also, she reprimanded me for my spiritual beliefs even though I see she now likes to say she is spiritual herself (as evident on her website). I transferred from CSUDH to another school for my last two years and even finished a graduate degree in English Literature and published my thesis (again, she said only people with supportive parents could go to graduate school). My point: students are intelligent. Treat them as such.
