Jennifer Linnman, LCSW

Jennifer vaulted boundaries usually set in place between client and provider, in ways that have baffled later therapists I've worked with. I remember one instance when Jennifer drove to my house on my parent's invitation to inspect my messy bedroom, because my parent believed its state proved I was abnormally mentally ill. After I stopped care with Jennifer, she took on this parent as her client for a number of years. Jennifer was warm, caring and empathetic. I'm sure she still is. But I strongly feel I would have been better helped and advocated for by most any other provider- and that I would have avoided the damage I incurred if I hadn't undergone therapy with her at all. I have had to un-learn what Jennifer's care taught me: That therapy was an unsafe place where I could not speak freely.

I have bee seeing Dr Linnman for a couple of years. She helped me heal through some incredibly challenging times including trauma processing, postpartum PTSD, and ADHD. She is warm, nurturing, patient, conversational, and incredibly insightful. I couldn't recommend her more. She cares so much about her patients and it really shows.

I read reviews about Jennifer’s practice and put the bad reviews aside. After going ahead and giving her a shot I realized all those who gave her one star are correct! Jennifer seems well educated and respectable, however that’s far from the truth. Jennifer is not interested in helping individuals exceed and runs a very casual, inappropriate, non-therapeutic practice. I would be happy to spend $185 on a therapist, but not someone who just seems like she’s uninterested.

Conceited and selfish are two of the only words I have for this woman. Like other reviews I found her to be extremely immature. Jennifer also believes that only her way was the right way. No true interest for her clients.

This woman should not be a therapist. She greatly lacks care and compassion. Instead if helping the client, she would much rather brag about her knowledge and specialties. It’s the biggest waste of $185 for an hour.

My child got progressively worse and worse seeing her. I and other members of our family found her to be quite immature. If you disagree with her she will try to turn your child against you and blame you for what she did to your child and feel no regret for this. A real control monger. More of a politician than a counselor.
