If I could give 0 stars I would regarding Jennyfer L Livingston. 21 year old presented with vomiting, general malaise, and headache. Parents present. All vitals normal, pupils equal and reactive. Bloodwork showed elevated WBC and UA flagged numerous things indicating acute infection, possibly due to dehydration. NP asked about cannabis use, patient stated no. Blood showed differently. NP did not note anything about working all day in 90+ temps, outside, if patient had eaten, possible heat exhaustion? NP did not even ask those questions to see if there was another reason for visit. NP was condescending and pompous to patient. A 21 year old is not going admit in front of their parents if they occasionally use marijuana. A seasoned NP would have asked to speak with the patient alone and not just been snarky and automatically assumed the patient was using all the time and diagnosed with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. Thankfully, heat exhaustion is the actual diagnosis.
