Dr. Penney Helped Save My Vision

This summer I had a whirlwind experience with quickly-onset double vision after having Covid and a sinus infection. While at my eye exam, which I set up just because all of the sudden I couldn't see correctly, Dr. Penney was very calm and patient as I was clearly going through a lot of emotions (mostly fear). I don't wear glasses, I have 20/20 vision, so it was pretty frightening to have this happen and spiral over the course of a few days. She took photos of the back of my eye (the optic nerve) and discovered I had a severe papilledema - from there she sent me to the ER because clearly I needed more preventative healthcare and scans to figure out why this was happening. What happened NEXT was remarkable: when the staff at the emergency room didn't complete the orders she sent over, she FOLLOWED UP with us and sent me to a specialist immediately who then took me to have surgery and literally saved me from going blind. Unreal. She is an amazing doctor & went well above the call of duty.
