Jim is a hands on, empathetic professional who gets to the root of who his client is and wants to become. He gets to know his patients intimately with thorough questioning and gentle challenging. I have been seeing Jim Harris twice per week since the middle of 2016. Jim has been instrumental in helping me to come to terms with my bipolar and PTSD condition. He has been patiently methodical while at the same time warmly empathetic. He inspires me to take on the limited tasks of my disabled life, always with the underlying goal of making me less disabled and more able to take on life's tasks. He has encouraged me to bring along my family from time to time so that he can round out his view of me and my situation. My 24 year old autistic son immediately took to Jim, and they have developed an independent therapeutic relationship. Jim is helping my son with his graduate school work at Georgia Tech and his attempt to find work despite all of the odds being against his ability to secure and maintain a job in his chosen field. Jim's unique wisdom and experience make him perfect for working with my son, as well as with me. In sum, I give my strongest recommendation for Jim Harris LCSW.
