Joan Bullemer, MA

I can’t give zero stars and 1 is too high of a rating. I would not recommend Joan Bullemer to anyone. My family member was a patient of hers. He is an alcoholic with serious mental health issues. Sessions consisted of telling him that he was a great person and that lying to his family and stealing to support his addiction was what alcoholics do. Then he set some goals to work on. At least one was to go to AA. In the meantime his addiction and poor thinking were getting worse. He has since told me he felt emboldened and justified to continue his bad(dangerous) behavior because she told him to stand up for himself and take control of his life. She couldn’t get how sick he was even knowing his past history of very serious problems and negative consequences. My husband ended up losing his job, being missing for days and some how making his way to the the hospital suicidal. If you need real help don’t go to this therapist.
