In a recent visit to SSM Health on Stoughton Rd. I had a terrible experience with Joe Peterson. His bedside manner was very condescending and diminishing. I was experiencing a cough that was restricting my breathing and suffering from coughing attacks that were getting progressively worse and was unable to sleep. He told me to make hot tea with honey and lemon. I had to request a strep test, he proceeded to include three different lab charges for that one test that I am still trying to get sorted out with SSM and my insurance company. At the end of the day I was charged over $500 (after insurance) for Joe to tell me to drink honey water and get a netti pot. Health providers are given too much control in the lack of accountability in being able to enter codes at their will with little to no transparency to the patient.
