I wouldn't be here today if he wasn't there then.
Dr. Milstein helped guide me through an unimaginable series of traumatic events following a (NDE) auto accident. Most would agree that the best anyone could possibly hope for in a sudden, catastrophic, life-changing situation, is to be lucky enough to find exactly the help they need. However, at that moment in time, hope and positive expectations were two things among a list of rapidly diminishing resources in my life. But thankfully, a close friend made an appointment for me. And after only a short period of time, I felt something at my core, (what would be confirmed many times, for many years in the future), I had found "just the right person, at just the right time". Dr. Milstein effectively established a plan and direction required to rebuild the foundation and framework I needed if there was to be any possibility for my recovery. Looking back, it wasn't just his professional abilities, it was his compassion, humanity, and caring nature that without a doubt, saved my life.

Does not provide promised report, disappears
I completed the diagnostic testing process with Joel and was promised, contractually, verbally and otherwise through writing, a final report, which is the only thing that I can take action on through therapy, and after several months of pursuing this, he has both refused to communicate and has failed to provide the report. I'm pursuing action to be fully refunded, as this man should not be practicing and cannot be entrusted with the service he claims to provide, as he has shown he objectively will not and has not fulfilled his contractual obligations.

He’s only in it for the money
Dr. Milstein performed a comprehensive mental health diagnostic over the span of a month, with sessions lasting several hours multiple times a week. When it finally came time to issue the final report, he delayed and delayed, claiming he needed more time; however, as soon as he was paid by my insurer he promptly ceased all communications. It’s been over two months since he has abandoned all contact and NEVER sent the report. What a waste of time.

He was the court monitor ( like guardian ad litem) for my stepdaughter. I was married to a very abusive man at the time and the child was in the custody of her father. My ex was a very unfit parent. Thankfully, Dr.Milstein recommended that the child’s mother could move with her daughter out of state and the father was court ordered to have no contact with his child. Dr Milstein made the right decision!
