A truly client focused therapist
John Rogers helped me turn my whole life around with his therapeutic approach. He was simultaneously serious about my issues and also appropriately lighthearted when I needed to laugh at myself. There were times that I was laughing through my tears. Instead of feeling embarrassed I felt accepted, even with my odd processing mechanisms. His approach gave me the ability to understand which problems were mine and which belonged to someone else so I could walk back into the real world with confidence. I would still be seeing him if I hadn’t moved out of state.

I would not recommend John Rogers as a therapist for eating disorders. Our young adult daughter suffers from anorexia and we went to him as a family wanting a therapist who could help us battle the disease as a team. Among other things, the one that bothered me the most is that he suggested our love for our daughter was conditional because we wanted to establish boundaries in our home. It was evident that he does not view family as serving an important role in a child's recovery from eating disorders and it almost seemed as if he was suspicious of us parents.
