Jovawna Hubbard, FNP-C

Jovawna goes above and beyond in her care of her patients. She listens intently, sees you as a person and not a statistic, so that she can give you the best treatment she can. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Years ago, I was treated for 2 years for a spot on my face by another doctor, very unsuccessfully. I found Jovawna, and on my first visit with her, she said, 'we need to do a biopsy'. A few days later I received a call from her and she told me I had Basal Cell Carcinoma. I wish I had gone to her 2 years earlier. But not for her, my situation would have gotten worse. Glad to have discovered this wonderful person and her great staff.

I saw Jovawna back in 2021 for back and hip problems. Also had sciatica. She sent me straight to Austin to orthopedic doctor who did xrays. He showed me where I had a ruptured disc in lower back; but he unfortunately did not do much with back related issues anymore. He gave me exercises to do. Jovawna then sent me to a neurosurgeon in San Antonio who also diagnosed me with spinal stenosis along with ruptured disc. I just had my first round of injections ordered by the neurosurgeon and I am back walking 3 miles a day. I am still having some pain in right hip but not anywhere near as bad as I was! I appreciate Jovawna’s honesty and integrity! I feel she has great compassion for her patients and is extremely intelligent! That being said, I would follow her anywhere! It’s very hard to find people in the medical profession as good and honest as she is! I thank her from the bottom of my heart!

Over the last 2 to 3 years my appointments with Jovawna have been stellar. Unfortunately the last couple have not. It seems she has gone the way of many doctors nowadays and you are handled mainly be a student or nurse/doctor in training. Therefor spending almost no time with the person you made the appointment with. Very disappointing not to have that personal touch anymore. That is what drew me to her in the first place. And watch out for the lady at the check out desk name Marci. She can be really moody and rude!
