Thank you.
For what it may be worth, your investigation and report are spot on. There’s enough in the report for us all to take something away. In the end my co-parent and I only have the ability to clean our side of the street and we are committed to doing that, especially for the boys’ sake. Apart from your explicit recommendations you’ve included plenty of nuance for us to also consider. Well done. Thanks for your diligent efforts.

I am thankful for Joyce
Joyce was our family counselor between roughly 2016-2019 for during and post-divorce trauma. I am surprised by the negative reviews. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. She was a perfect fit for us and got to the core of issues, pain, and healing remarkably fast. She understood the dynamics of our situation even before I expressed them, and she gave me confidence in the way ahead. She even helped me head off more pain. As I look back, I am somewhat stunned by how well she managed the noise in our situation, as I was divorcing a hostile narcissist. She was the support we needed to get us through a very difficult time. In considering a follow-up and having lost track of her, I did a search to find her, and I now feel compelled to leave a review of praise. I look forward to seeing her again.

Out of touch, not for us
Not a good fit at all. First, uncomfortable with lack professionalism and how far behind things ran as we sat waiting for rushed appointments. Second, the subtle nuances and nods to her preference for a very dated and “traditional” view of family and dynamics told me that as a therapist she is just out of touch with modern times. She had a very obvious preference towards the roles of fathers/men in the lives of children regardless of if they were damaging with their presence or not. Third, she ignored obvious trauma my child has been dealing with as a result of dealing with a narcissistic parent and I’m so glad we moved on from her. From the looks of some of these reviews others did not have that choice. If you have the choice, I would steer clear.

Joyce was the PRE on my case regarding custody of my children, she was phenomenal. She took the time to investigate every aspect of our case and give a report with parental recommendations to the judge. She was kind and understanding with my children and made sure that her report reflected the best interest of the children. She has received alot of low star ratings due to disgruntled unfit parents who did not like the outcome at court. She deserves 100 stars. She is the reason my children are no longer being abused. After years of battling for the childrens safety she finally was able to give us peace. No words can express my gratitude for her.

Joyce really connected with my children. She is prompt, friendly, and they love her. She is the first one in a long time that they are comfortable with. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.

Joyce cnsistently puts the child first. Parents who alienate, or otherwise abuse or neglect their children or bully and attempt to get the counselor on their side will not like her. She can't be pushed around. She will testify in court on behalf of the child's best interest. That's something many therapists won't do. She is truly the child's advocate. An abusive, narcissistic or otherwise mentally ill parent won't do well with her. She saved my relationship with my child.

Joyce has no concept of what it means to be a counselor. She tells you one thing, then does another. She does not take the time to get to know her clients, and unfortunately, if it involves a child, that child is then stuck with someone who treats them like another paycheck that someone they want to help. Not only that, but she has the WORST organization EVER. We have been double booked several times, or told he have appointments that we never had. Please, stay clear of this woman!

Joyce Miller caused my daughter more trauma than what she was already experiencing. She is incompetent and rude. I would never recommend her to anyone. I wish zero stars were an option. That is how strongly I feel!

Horrible experience with this woman. Please, for your own well-being and that of your children, find someone else. She is condescending, rude, belligerent when questioned, and does not listen to the parents. My daughter is now seeing another therapist, and they are working to undo the damage caused while in Ms. Miller's care.
