Julia Handler, LCSW

I was at such a low point in my life when I had 2 appointments with Julia Handler in the spring of 2017. The way she spoke to me during our sessions was disgusting (subjectively, duh, obviously). Way too many "You" statements. The remarks I recall most were: "You are giving them too much power." "How does it feel to think that you are better than everyone else?" And then, "Everything you are experiencing is treatable." Treatable. Responding to major depression as if it were an STD. I called her work, The Healthy Foundations, repeatedly; no one ever picked up, I always had to leave voicemails. I followed-up with my appointments with Julia and checked the status of the intensive-outpatient program that were supposed to register me for. They never got back to me. So, my last voicemail was to cancel all my appointments at The Healthy Foundations. Julia called me unprofessionally on a Sunday evening, audibly indignant that I was cancelling with her. Hope she & that place are better now.
