Ms. Williams is smart, stays current and keeps detailed treatment notes that she refers to in order to provide the most amazing behavioral healthcare. I have full confidence in her capabilities and desire to get her patients well.

I've gone to Central Texas Mental Health for over 7 years now and highly recommend them to friends or anyone else I come across looking for good quality psychiatric care. It was very difficult when I first began searching for a psychiatrist for help treating my depression - everyone either didn't take my insurance anymore, wasn't accepting new patients, was retired, or had a 6 month waitlist, etc. A friend told me about them, and although it was and still is out of my way, it was worth it. They got me in right away for an appointment, and I've always been able to get appointments reasonably quickly since then. The practitioner I've met with most of the time is Julie Williams, PA, who still works there. She is always compassionate and thorough, and really takes the time to ask questions and understand how I'm doing. The front desk staff are very friendly and professional as well.

I've had nothing by wonderful experiences with Julie and at Central Texas Mental Health in general. I am FTM transgender, which means that finding quality, trans-competent healthcare is a significant challenge for me. Unlike some doctors I have had, I have never had to educate Julie about trans issues. Any internal conflict I had about my gender identity was more or less all worked out before I became a patient with her. She has never pressed me to talk about them unnecessarily or to pathologize my transness. A couple of times when I was really broke, she made sure to mark our visit as the billing code for a 15 minute appointment (the cheapest type of appointment) even when the visit lasted 30+ minutes. She is incredibly compassionate and I can't recommend her enough.
