Felt that we were left out of therapy
Mr. Levitan was recommended to us as someone who works with high schoolers. He worked with my high school-age son for several months. During this time there was little communication with us about what they were working on, how we could support the work as parents, etc. We are by no means "helicopter" parents, however, if my child is working with a professional, I expect some level of communication, either between us and the therapist or through being invited to a family session. There was neither. My son thought that Mr. Levitan was nice but didn't feel he was getting anything out of therapy. I understand that the mental health laws in PA state that a child is considered an "adult" at age 14, however, we are paying for our child to participate in therapy and we're kept out of the loop, that's not O.K. I learned my lesson to ask more specific questions prior to starting with a therapist.

Justin was fantastic for teenage son. While he was in the early years of high school, our son struggled to 'find himself'. Being a middle child between two gifted siblings was a challenge. In addition to helping our son appreciate his own talents (and not in a patronizing way but by real discussions and outside observations), Justin helped us as parents tailor our rules to our son. Justin helped us strike the right balance. Now, our son is doing well in college, playing a college sport, has developed a core group of nice friends, and has become a welcome member of our family. I have communicated to Justin several times over the years that I give him much of the credit for this transformation. Being humble, Justin gives our son the credit, but I know Justin’s guidance was crucial. Best decision we made years ago was to see Justin for a while, then stop when our son asked us to trust him and let him stop going when it was time. Justin is a great person and great family therapist.

Justin is an amazing therapist. He has helped me in countless ways. My only regret is that I didn’t connect with him sooner. The environment he establishes with his “clients” is warm, welcoming, and professional. I put “clients” in quotes bc working with and helping people means more to him than just a weekly session or a collection of fees due. His personality exudes empathy, honesty, and compassion. We tackle issues together, develop manageable plans for success together , and we celebrate growth together. Knowing that Justin always has my back and never ever judges my decisions has helped my anxiety, my parenting, my relationships, my teaching, and my overall well being. Thank you, Justin for being so kind! I’m grateful to have you in my corner, on awesome days and not so awesome days!

Justin has been a therapist to my family for over 16 years. He first worked with my brother through his adolescent years, and has continued to serve as a sound voice of reason for my parents and I as I have continued into adulthood. He has been a rock through multiple family traumas and my family is so grateful to know Justin. He is the perfect person to curse, cry, and laugh with. I would hope anyone looking for a therapist would be lucky enough to have a "Justin" in their lives.
