Started there for marriage counseling after moving in a family member with dementia. After a few visits, said my husband needed help unlocking some childhood trauma and worked with him alone for several months. I scheduled with her by myself for a 1:1 and she told me "I'm glad you came. You need to divorce your husband. He's a narcissist and I can't help him. There is no help for those types of people" She then told me that I needed to go home and tell him myself that he was no longer wanted in her practice. Yes you heard that right. She told me I needed to go home and tell him he wasn't wanted anymore. Ummm, you're the professional, you spend months with him and never bothered to tell him that. He had no idea. I came home to tell him the news and he was blindsided (just like me). We have since found a much more capable therapist.
