Kerby McDonald is a caring, and personable man. My husband and I have been through two tragic experiences - the loss of two grandsons and great grandsons. He not only is there when we have an appointment, but also calls to check to see how we are doing. I/we deeply appreciate Kerby McDonald. I have visited several psychiatrists and all have caused major setbacks affecting my quality of life. I have been to several psychiatrists, psychiatric PAs and psychiatric NPs over the last 19 years. What makes Kerby the best is his excellent talent for being a really good listener, appointments with Kerby, whether in person or telehealth, are very much on time (a former Psychiatrist I saw was consistently 2 hours behind schedule!) and Kerby really knows his patients (I’m sure we’ve all had health care providers where you wonder if they even read your chart). Kerby seriously considers his patients thoughts and opinions for medication options and changes. He is always upbeat which is AMAZING considering the strength he must have to constantly deal with our kind of issues. He truly cares! He puts the care in Health CARE provider. Kerby McDonald is the BEST NP we have ever had! After years of trying to find a board certified professional in this field, we finally found one in Kerby. So many others were a disappointment. Kerby is professional, knowledgeable, passionate about what he does. He truly cares about his patients and returns phone calls, which is a big plus in itself. He knows prescription drugs better than anyone in this field in Arizona. Kerby will not disappoint you for a clear diagnosis and treatment.

He believes in finding solutions rather than stacking medications. If, we can eliminate unnecessary medications we appreciate it. The changes have been positive.

I’ve being seeing Kirby McDonald for about a year already and I just got to the point that I had to change providers. Kirby McDonald is very unprofessional. My last visit with him made me feel very uncomfortable . As I sat in his room while he went to get me samples of a medication that might help me I over heard him talking to some staff that “he couldn’t wait to get out of here “ . I can hear him talking bad about me to other staff. He came back into the office and acted like I didn’t hear him . I came to him for help instead he caused more stress for me and joked about my emotions to his staff while making a fool out of me . Never again

Excellent provider. Great listener, attentive, knowledgeable!

Does not take the time to acknowledge patients. More than half the visits I’ve had felt rushed as if I was an imposition. Paperwork for work leave was submitted incorrectly 2 times before he became aware of my actual length of shift. Increased med dosage to double strength then by next appt told me to reduce off of it within a week which put me in the ER. If you want someone who doesn’t understand medicine, he’s your guy. Have fun.

Mr. McDonald is very easy to talk to, is never judgemental,. I'm very happy with his counceling.

Kerby is personable and listens. Only problem is he will no longer be able to take my insurance.

I would never recommend this provider to anyone!! I was diagnosed with a disorder 9 years ago, moved to the area and needed help. He belittled my disability, told me "I'm too young" to have a disorder and since I was able to graduate college, I should "be better by now. " He never once looked at my records to prove I was sick. Please don't see him, as he made my disorder worse. Please be advised, if he doesn't approve of your current medical plan, you'll go through severe withdrawal.

I was very comfortable with him. He listened to me and seemed that he was interested in what I had to say. I've already spoken about him to people and said that so far I would recommend him.
