I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration with Dr. Young's recent response regarding my 7-year-old son's medical needs. My son, who has been a patient of Dr. Young for two years, has a known diagnosis of amblyopia in one eye, for which he wears glasses. His teacher has recommended a larger computer screen to support his learning, and the school district requires documentation from his eye doctor to proceed with this request.To my shock, Dr. Young, despite having seen my son for an eye exam just three months ago, refused to provide the necessary documentation. Instead of assisting my son in obtaining a resource that would directly benefit his education, Dr. Young insisted that my child undergo another eye exam—seemingly for no reason other than to generate additional billing for her practice. This response has left me questioning not only her professionalism but also her compassion and commitment to patient care.
