Lawrence Kaufman, LMFT

I was pleasantly surprised by my sessions with therapist Lawrence Kaufman. I was never in therapy before and didn’t have any expectations. I only agreed to be in couples therapy because of my wife had been urging me to give it a try. I am the kind of guy who likes to fix problems on my own. I have been wary of asking for professional help . The bottom line was that my wife and I were stuck . We kept getting into the same old arguments that were making us both unhappy. We were really tired of being miserable. I never imagined that a marriage counselor could help us so much as Lawrence Kaufman did . Also , I didn’t think he could help me with my drinking problem. But he helped me to open my eyes to the possibility of being a happier person and having a better relationship with my wife . Thanks for saving my marriage !! I highly recommend him.

I am very careful who I open up my life to. So, I was pleased when my good friend highly recommended to me the therapist, Lawrence Kaufman, who she has been seeing. A personal recommendation from someone I know well is worth so much more to me than an impersonal recommendation that someone I do not know makes on social media. Lawrence Kaufman has been such an effective and helpful therapist for me, especially at a time of great need! I sensed a good fit and match with him from the very beginning.

My husband and I previously saw several other couple counselors, but we did not get the help we needed. This changed when we started seeing Lawrence Kaufman. He is very experienced, highly professional and an unbiased therapist. Since we both felt safe, confident, and trusting in him , we opened up more to one another. He helped us learn how to communicate more effectively, better able to see the other person’s point of view, as well as to resolve conflict and power struggles fairly . Also , Mr. Kaufman helped us create a deeper emotional connection and intimacy with one another that we had not anticipated. We are grateful we found him !

Mr. Kaufman is an excellent psychotherapist. I began therapy with him over a year ago and he has been instrumental in my healing He is an empathetic listener and very kind . He Is extremely knowledgeable , professional and helps you see things from a different perspective with his insights and skillful questions, so you make positive changes . I highly recommend him him .

We came to this therapist for my former wife's mental health issues. Unfortunately, there was no progress to be found in these sessions. Moreover, he laughed out loud when instances of racist behavior were described in therapy. I'm unclear whether or not he is a closet racist, but whatever his motivations are, but he is utterly unprofessional and discourteous. He did not even afford me the ability to finish my sentences without interrupting. He does not allow for normal discourse or for anyone to voice their past traumatic experience. Anytime issues of domestic abuse were brought up he quickly sought to muzzle the victims accounting. Avoid this therapist at all costs.
