Unprofessional Reply
I was a patient of Dr. Pendarvis several years ago. I recently reached out to her again to start therapy with her. She scheduled me for an appointment on a Saturday afternoon, which unfortunately I completely forgot about since my day got very hectic. I called and left her a voicemail to apologize and asked her to call me and let me know when I would be able to get in to see her. She sent me a text message that said thank you for apologizing but I am not rescheduling your appointment. I messaged her back asking her why and she never replied. Very rude and very unprofessional! Obviously somebody that needs to see a psychologist has some issues that they need to deal with. How does she know that the person she is doing this too doesn’t have deeper underlying depression or mental issues going on that she could’ve made worse by a rude remark about not rescheduling me and not even giving me the courtesy of a reply as to why.

Dr. Pendarvis is astute, thorough and compassionate. One of the things I liked best about her approach was her honesty and prescience. As we worked through my problems she helped me identify possible scenarios and obstacles that could arise. It helped me in the moment when I had to deal with difficult or emotional situations. I found her when my self worth was lacking and my boundaries were non-existent. She helped me to rebuild my self-esteem and handle ongoing, complex family problems. She was very accessible and professional. I highly recommend her. Through her counsel I am a happier person, not because my difficulties disappeared, but because she equipped me to handle them in a healthy way. Her office is charming and bright.

Dr. Pendarvis gave us some good advise. That ceased when helping with the matter of a relative who had been very rude and disrespectful to me. Since this was an immediate family member, a resolution was very important. The person apologized to my husband for being rude to me... but not to me. I wanted us to pursue getting this matter addressed until it was resolved and Dr. Pendarvis told me I was being "PICKY" for wanting that person to apologize to me. How does a professional treat someone with such disregard and foolishness!

Very unfortunate experience.Dr. Pendarvis is very harsh, judgmental, and quite frankly rude. Unsympathetic and cold. Her office is in a dirty, dank room in the back office of somebody else's office. Extremely uncomfortable.
