Practicing at Duke Ortho now. Overbooked appointments and asked if I could push up one hour. Should have been a red flag right then and there. Felt totally rushed throughout our QUICK 10 minute appointment. I am riddled with bad arthritis, so I know what that feels like. I went to see her for an injury to my spine and EXCRUCIATING daily pain (not typical arthritis pain). She was quick to ask if I wanted different medication and wanted to prescribe a muscle relaxer. When I told her I was already taking one, her reply was, “Oh, I didn’t look at your chart.” After looking at X-rays, she said- I don’t see anything wrong with your bones. So, I can’t do anything for you. (Meanwhile, I’ve had multiple other doctors tell me how bad my back is. For crying out loud, I’m on SSDI because of it!) Then, she asked, “do you want an MRI?” Ummmm…isn’t the “doctor” supposed to determine that? I’ve never felt so rushed or felt like a health care provider couldn’t care less. I left in tears. Just awful.
