Dr. Leslie Bourne, PHD

I've had several appts with her and she is awful, EVERY SINGLE visit she is late, at least by ten minutes, which made me late for another doctor I was supposed to see the same day. When filling out a sleep diary she said I couldn't drink any alcohol (I usually have one drink a week when I go out with friends), and implied that if I had a drink during the study that alcohol is obviously the problem and nothing else. I came off my meds that I've been on over a year in order to do the diaries, and I just feel like she never really listens to me and makes me feel dumb. She also goes over appt time every single time, making it hard to keep plans and be on time.I am only staying with her until I can find a different sleep doctor. It feels like her ideas are a one size fits all.

Dr. Bourne is over-confident in her abilities and in the efficacy of behavioral therapy. What's wrong with being confident, you ask? It means that she doesn't listen to you. You're left with the impression that you are just an subject to whom her behavioral prescriptions will be applied. There just isn't much of a human touch here, no sense of a concern and a desire to understand the issues that are bothering you. Visit her if you want to feel like a laboratory rat.
