I had a new client appointment set up for therapy with Leslie through Matters of the Heart Counseling Centers in San Leandro, CA. I logged into the online portal at our scheduled time, and Leslie was not online. I got an email 1 minute into the session time from her saying ''I'm having trouble getting wifi up probably due to pouring rain...and I don't want to make you wait! Would you mind if we meet next week?” I immediately emailed back saying 'Could we do a phone call instead, since it's just an intake appointment, anyway?' No response. 5 days later, neither she, nor the office, has contacted me to follow up. This is completely unprofessional. If I was seeking therapy for the first time in my life, this would have completely turned me off to therapy. Luckily, I have been in and out of therapy, so this one bad apple does not deter me. If she's having a bad day or week, I wish her the best, but she needs to communicate much more professionally. Do not recommend.
