Lindsey Ackerson, NP

I saw Lindsey for prenatal care. I mentioned breaking out in hives badly when cold weather hits my body. I was looked at like I’m a joke. I am serious, the hives are terrible because of cold weather. I know it sounds silly but she’s a doctor she dismissed my concerns and said “hm that’s weird” and proceeded to never touch on the subject again. I’m still breaking out in hives. And it starts with my pregnant belly every time. She always asked my toddler “do you want a sticker” and he would be so excited but she never remembered to come back and give him the sticker. I asked her to prescribe me a different prenatal because the one she sent was not covered by my state insurance , it would have cost me $40 and I am a low income single mother, and she told me no she won’t send another prescription that it would take her too long and she recommends I just pay for it as it’s not that expensive. So I do not take any. The failure to understand me hurts my heart. I don’t recommend her to anyone.

I am utilizing St. Luke's Hospital Medical Education OBGYN Clinic for my prenatal care. My second appointment was with Lindsey Ackerson. The appointment itself went well for the most part. Lindsey was friendly, approachable, a little dismissive of some health concerns I had but I think it was to put me at ease, she was not ignoring me (not a negative but not my preferred means of communication is all). What bothered me was when she asked what kind of family planning I wanted. I told her sterilization (this is my second pregnancy where birth control was involved and they are 10yrs apart). Her response was "Well, we can continue to discuss it. Sterilization is the most regretted elective surgery group." I changed topics and finished up the appointment. It took 2 minutes to fact check that statement. Plastic surgery is the most regretted elective procedure group by almost triple the rate. I will not tolerate being lied to by a medical professional whether intentional or not.
