Lisa Baldwin, LMFT

I've worked with Lisa for years. It is great having her know my history. I don't need regular appointments so when I call after months of silence, it is great to pick up without having to revisit details.

I met with Lisa at an Optum office in Long Beach, CA for a routine preventative care physical. After the visit, Lisa failed to code the visit correctly in the system, and as result, I was charged $200 that should be covered 100% as part of preventative care through my insurance. When I called the office to ask to get this corrected, the receptionist said that only Lisa can fix this problem and that I can try to leave her a message, but that it was unlikely that Lisa would even return my call. Completely Unprofessional.

I liked Lisa and I don't want to seem harsh, but what took place seemed cold and unprofessional. I have consulted with other health care professionals. My sessions ended with an unexpected email from Lisa that seemed more like a conclusion between business associates who had worked well together on a project. Any trust or progress made was completely undone at this time. Sadly, I regret having made contact with this counselor. I will now need to work through any unresolved feelings and confusion with another counselor in order to have closure to this situation.
